"239 pp.Free Shipping with-in US...Stated First Printing, 1976, The Dial Press, New York, 1976, 239 pages; 8vo (9"" tall) G+ Condition, dj shows shelf wear with several small chips and a small tear along bottom edge, black boards are clean, binding is slightly cocked or slanted, pages are clean except for previous owners inscription on the front free end paper, also a red ink mark which also looks to be from the previous owner (does not appear to be a remand mark), also the number 29 is neatly written in ink in the upper left hand corner of the front free end paper, rest of the pages are clean and clear of any other writing or marks. There is a nice b/w map of the Martha's Vineyard area including Chappaquiddick Island and Katama Bay on the second free end paper. This is a very interesting read in which the author in A Prefatory Note states: As a consumer statement, let me assure your that this product is anything but the definitive study of Edward M. Kennedy's career. For that you should be grateful. A definitive study of Kennedy would e pretty boring. He is not personally that interesting, and no amount of two-paragraph stories about his bar-hopping in Georgetown or threading homeward through 4 P.M. traffic at 80 mph can make him so. Nor is he professionally exciting. Like most front-page politicians, he basically serves as the instrument of an efficient staff. He, no less than his brothers, would be eminently forgettable if it were not for tragedy, which is my excuse for dwelling at such length on the matter at Chappaquiddick. The front dj flap states: The Last Kennedy is more than a fleshing out of Mr. Sherrill's article. To be sure, it covers in detailed and devastating fashion the almost mind-boggling discrepancies between Kennedy's testimony (both on television and during the trial) and the laws of probability; certainly, it presents more concisely and clearly than ever before the questions that testimony raises and some potential answers very much at odds with the Kennedy version. "
